We understand your desire to send presents to your child. However, Children of Uganda’s policy is that no packages are allowed to be sent through our US offices. The following list provides some of the reasons this policy is in place:
- Uncertain delivery time or ability to track package
- High cost of postage
- Possibility of loss, theft or damage
- Difficulty in transporting package to child once it arrives in Uganda.
- Isolation the gift creates for the intended child and the disappointment created in the children who rarely - if ever - receive presents.
If you would like to send your child a memento or keepsake, you may enclose small items in an envelope no larger than 6"x9". Items children can enjoy for months to come include postcards, bumper stickers, bookmarks, hair ribbons, stickers and other flat, inexpensive items.
We also have a Birthday Club you can join. If you would like to make a special designated donation to this club - we will celebrate all of the children’s birthdays in each given month from the money collected in this fund. This ensures that all of the children are remembered and not left out of special festivities.
